Our Journey: Milestones in Women’s Empowerment

Over the years, we have championed the cause of women’s rights and empowerment. From our initial efforts in grassroots organizing to our current programs in advocacy and support, we’ve made significant strides. Each milestone represents a step towards creating a world where women have equal opportunities and support.

2023 - Foundation Established

We were founded with a mission to empower women and build supportive communities. This marked the beginning of our journey towards making a lasting impact.

2024 - First Training Program

Our first training program launched, focusing on skills development and personal growth, opening doors for many women in our community.

2024 - Advocacy Campaign

We launched a significant advocacy campaign, raising awareness on women's rights and influencing policy changes to support our mission.

Meet our amazing Team

Ms. Grace Nabaggala

Executive Director

Ms. Grace Nabaggala is passionate advocate for the rights, inclusion, and empowerment of women and children living with disabilities. With extensive experience in public health, advocacy, and community development, she leads the organization’s strategic vision, programs, and partnerships with a strong commitment to equity and social justice.

As Executive Director, Grace has been instrumental in advancing initiatives that promote accessible healthcare, economic empowerment, inclusive education, and policy advocacy for persons with disabilities across Uganda. Her leadership style emphasizes collaboration, community engagement, and sustainable impact.

Driven by the belief that every woman and child deserves dignity, respect, and opportunity, Grace works tirelessly to amplify the voices of those often marginalized and to foster environments where they can thrive. She holds a degree in Biomedical Sciences, a Master’s in Public Health, an Advanced Diploma in Leadership and Management, and an Advanced Certificate in Project Planning and Management. She brings a wealth of expertise in program management, organizational leadership, and advocacy at both grassroots and national levels.

 

Patience Birungi

Director of Programs & Co-Founder

Patience Birungi holds a Master’s degree in Health Services Research from Makerere University School of Public Health and a Bachelor’s degree in Community Psychology from Makerere University School of Psychology. She is deeply passionate about improving the lives of persons with disabilities, with a special focus on children and youth.

With a strong background in community-based approaches, Patience advocates for inclusive, innovative, and holistic programs that respond to the unique needs of women and children with disabilities. Her work is rooted in the belief that meaningful change begins at the household level and that through collaboration and commitment, lasting impact is possible.

Nagudi Princess Diana

Volunteer Finance

Nagudi Princess Diana is a dedicated and enthusiastic young professional who brings a strong sense of responsibility, maturity, and a passion for community service to her role. She approaches her work with sensitivity, respect for diversity, and a deep commitment to supporting vulnerable groups.

Diana currently volunteers with the finance team, where she applies her skills to support the organization’s mission. Her previous experience includes a procurement internship with the Agency for Cooperation in Research and Development (ACORD) in collaboration with The Private Education Development Network (April–June 2022).

Outside of work, Diana enjoys traveling and exploring new environments, which fuels her curiosity and broadens her perspective on development challenges and solutions.

Mbawa Christine Luzinda

Volunteer

A holder of a Bachelors degree in Community Psychology , Makerere University and a certificate in Child Protection , Makerere University.Christine is an experienced and compassionate Psychosocial worker with a passion in Child welfare and Community wellbeing .

Her dedication in Psychosocial assessments, support and services over the years has made a positive impact on so many people’s lives.
